History of AESAC


AESAC became aware in the fall of 2000. AESAC's purpose is to advocate for and support Aboriginal students. Race and student relations is an important part of the AESAC purpose.

The club was conceived of out of the concerns of students in the Native Teachers Education Program (NTEP). When the first meetings took place, the founding members,of which there were four, met weekly at The Seattle Coffeehouse and later when it became too expensive to meet there every week (students' budgets are very constrained) AESAC met at an appartment two of the members shared.
